Carrera slot car tracks are simple to put together and the bolts included will keep the track together through the most competitive races.
There are concerns raised in some customer reviews about the cars coming out of their slots. This is to be expected because these are slot car sets, so some skill is required to keep the cars on the track. The speed of the cars is controlled by the hand controller. Although the cars have some magnetic down force and are well balanced to maneuver round the corners the cars needs to be driven around the course – fast in the straight and slower round the corners using the controller. Most children seem to get the hang of this quickly from what I have seen but it does take a bit of practice initially.
The controllers include a turbo boost button to give the cars that extra speed along the straights to overtake their competitor or pull away from them – just be careful not to lose the advantage round the corners by entering them too fast or trying them out on the corners.

A number of people bought this set over Christmas and they have left reviews. Currently on Amazon there are 10 reviews with an overall rating of 3.1. Which is not as good as I would have expected for this set. However, the negative reviews are concerned with some issues Amazon appeared to have in delivering the correct slot car set to them. A number of people were delivered the Secret Mission set instead. Without these reviews the rating would be 3.8/5.0
