The AFX Tri-Power Pack

The AFX Tri-power pack is the latest power pack for powering AFX slot car tracks. This is an innovative idea by AFX with three different power settings.
When getting started in slot car racing it can take a little time to get used to the speed of them and therefore to get the full fun out of the hobby. AFX have taken this on board and come up with the AFX Tri-Power pack.
The AFX 8822 Tri-Power pack lets you learn at your own pace which is great for kids and people new to the hobby of slot car racing. It does this by having three settings – beginner, intermediate and expert.

AFX Tri-Power Pack Levels

The different settings adjust the voltage power going to the track and thereby lowers the top speed of the cars for the beginner and intermediate levels
According to AFX this means:-
At beginner level – the car will stay on the track 90-100% going round the corners at top speed
At the intermediate level – the cars will stay on the track 60- 70% at full speed and at
Expert level you need to rely on your own skills.

AFX have also increased the amps and more amperage means less power surges for a more consistent and smoother drive and also no more surges when the other competitor crashes out of their slot.
They have also retained the ability to change the race direction by changing the Power pack direction.

The manufacturer also says that this is like a standard AFX power pack and will work with AFX slot cars tracks old and new.
