Scalextric C1251 Start GT Endurance Description
The Scalextric C1251 Start GT Endurance set is an introductory set into the hobby of slot car racing. With the two GT cars you race round 8 different track layouts.
Part of the Start range of tracks recently released by Scalextric to give newbies an affordable way to get into the hobby. The cars and track are 1:32 scale. The total track length you can race the two durable GT endurance cars is just over 20 feet
The track is designed to be quick to put up and take down. It is expandable with the C8527 Scalextric Start Straight Track Extension Pack – two pieces of track just over 20 inches each.
Any Scalextric cars can race on this track but adaptor pieces are needed to join this track to other Scalextric standard series track – the C8525 convertor track.
The hand controllers have adjustable speed controls to cater for the racers current skill levels. This is a great idea as one of the most frustrating things when getting started in slot car racing is the problem with the cars coming off at the corners. It takes some time to get used to slowing the car down while maintaining the speed to beat your opponent round the track. This innovation by Scalextric will help ease the beginner into the sport by being able to lower the top speed thereby reducing the number of times the car crashes, giving more racing time. As experience and skill level increases the speed can be turned up.

The Scalextric C1251 Start GT Endurance reviews I have seen are mixed with some customers loving it and others not so keen. The main issue being with it appears to be the fact that it is not able to be joined to standard Scalextric track without using the convertor track.
