Slot Car Raceway Rohnert Park
Just came across what looks like a great slot car raceway and hobbies store in Rohnert Park California. A bit difficult to get much details as there isn't a lot on their site. But it looks like they have a well stocked store of cars, parts and track for building your own raceway. Plus there are 2 big raceways from what I can see, plus a smaller track and drag racing lane.
I have included a video taken at Rohnert Park raceway that gives you a slot car perspective of racing with a big crash included.

Two Slot Car Apps
I am not big into cell phone apps as I only use mine for sending and receiving texts and calls. But if you like slot car racing you might just be interested in checking out these 2 free downloads and want to have something to do when you are away from the track.
First off is eXtremeSlotRacing Free. It looks a basic set up, with only one track and one difficulty setting. It lools like a standard 2 lane slot car set up in a boys bedroom. You move the car buy pressing your thumb on the speed dial. Go too fast and you'll crash out round gthe corners. I guess the only advantage is that you don't have to get up and replace in the slot, you can do that from where you!

Next is the SlotZ Racer Caterham Special by Strange Flavour Ltd available on iTunes for free. It is a free version of iPhone's best "selling" SlotZ Racer (released in 2009). This features Caterham 7 cars that you can modify. There are a selection of race tracks and different levels of difficulty. Plays on iphone, ipad or ipod. If you are a race fan or slot car fan this looks a real winner until the next version of the full app is released. After 19 reviews on itunes it has a rating of 4+/5. Transforming Scalextric
Scalextric have recently announced the upcoming release of C3272A Transformers Bumblebee Limited Edition model number . It does not transform! But it does look pretty cool. It is based on how you first meet Bumblebee as a beat up early 70s Camaro. The detailing is of it as a dirty beat up car. There are only 2000 going to be released. It is available everywhere except USA and Australia unfortunately. Cost is expected to GBP £49.95 about USD$80.
