The track system used by Life Like is called Dura Loc. From my research on the web most people find the track easy to put together and find that it sticks together, provides a smooth ride and a consistent power supply to the slot cars.

The 20 feet of track includes 4 hairpin turns, a squeeze track, 2 levels of racing and four straights to test your racing skills. A lap counter is included to keep score and let you know who has taken the checkered flag.

Being HO scale the 20 feet of action can all take place in only a relatively small area of 79 inches by 39 ½ inches.  It can fit on to a bedroom floor or a spare room quite easily. However, if needed it can quickly be taken down and stored until the next time.

The Fast Tracker slot cars based on the NASCAR drivers Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon are fast. According to the manufacturers website they go up to the speed of 1000 scale mile per hour. Additionally, the cars have been tested against other slot car brands and were shown to be number 1 for speed and handling.
The cars are HO scale which is the 1:64 scale. The cars are about 2.5 inches long. This makes them easy to handle when moving them around.
The cars are robustly made to take the knocks and crashes of slot car racing. To keep in top racing condition a tune-up kit is provided for spare parts to keep the cars running at an optimum level.

Pros: This is a great set for fans of NASCAR with two top drivers included Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin. The scale of 1:64 means that a lot of racing action can take place in a small area.
The cars include magnets to keep the cars on the track so that the speed of the cars round corners can be faster and the cars are less likely to come off round the track.

 

Cons: Some people see the fact that these cars do not stay on the track when at full throttle an issue, but this is part of the skill to be learnt and also adds to the excitement. Although initially, it can be frustrating when the cars coming off the track most kids get the hand of it fairly quickly and are soon giving their parents a run for their money.
