As well as being able to change lanes you can adjust the speed of the cars to cater for different skill levels. The track is 1:24 scale and the cars are 1:32 scale giving plenty of room for racing and sliding round the corners.

The cars are well made and can stand up to the rigors of slot car racing, except maybe the wing mirrors (these can be removed). The Dodge 2006 Charger Police Car’s flashing lights work when chasing the Ford Mustang GT. Both cars have working head and tail lights and come with programmable braking and acceleration action for more realistic racing and chasing.

The black box and hand controllers program the cars for speed, acceleration and braking. From what I’ve found most people find this pretty straightforward. You can add a pace car and an independent car to add more fun into the race and chase mix.

The 1:24 scale track allows for the option to race 1:24 scale cars on the same track. The unique bolting system keeps the track together and along with the stainless steel slots results in a smoother ride and continuous supply of power to the track. When assembled as per the instructions the track needs an area 9 feet by 5 feet.

The track is expandable to just about any size you want. The Carrera black box included with the set allows you to race up to 6 digital cars on the 2 lane track. With additional pieces you can include a pit lane, fuel gauge and more.
