An alternative set is the Life Like Police Pursuit - in 1:64 scale (so slightly smaller cars than Carrera's) with 18 feet of track. The 2 cars included is the getaway Hot rod Camaro and a Police Department Camaro. The police lights don't flash like with the Carrera slot car. The Carrera Police Chase has been one of the best selling slot car sets this year. Until now! It appears to be out of stock at most online retailers. At Amazon they are saying it is currently unavailable and they don’t know when it will be back in stock.

Carrera Police Chase Description

The Carrera Police Chase is a popular set from the Carrera Go series. Cops and robbers and high speed chases are all part of the thrill of this set. You can race round and chase each other bumper to bumper to get away from justice or chase down the criminal.

It comes with all the features your would expect from Carrera - cars have magnets to hug the track round the corners, easy to put together and sturdy design. The Go Carrera Police Chase Slot Car Set is recommended for children 8 years plus but I have seen customer reviews with children as young as 4 enjoying the set with their dads!

The Crown Victoria Police Interceptor comes with working flashing lights for added fun. The speed controllers comes with a turbo boost button to give that added acceleration to catch the criminals in their 1967 Ford Mustang or equally for the criminals to pull away from the police.
An 11.8 ft of track in a figure 8 layout with an intersection rather than flyover means you have to avoid the crossing traffic to make it safely across. The cars are highly detailed and robust enough to take the crashes and bumps of full on slot car racing.
Slot car racing is a game of skill as the cars need to be “driven” around the track – slowed for the corners and accelerate along the straights. The scale is 1:43 so just right for children’s hands and for all the action to take place in relatively small area of only 4.66 ft by 2.33 ft.
Easy to assemble means the track is up in minutes and you are up and ready to race. Parts are included and have been designed to be straightforward to replace the guide for the slot and the contact brushes to pick up power from the track.
Reviews for the slot car set have found it dependable and fun for children as young as 4 years old.
