With 18 feet of track included in this set you get a good length of track to try out your cornering skills and long straights to try out the turbo boost button on the hand controllers.

The track is in two colors – one the normal road colored track of black and a sand colored track for the dune action.

The track is placed together and then held in place with “bolts” or “clips” Some people mention this can be a bit fiddly but with a little care and attention these result in a stable track for racing.

Included in the set are two 1;43 scale size Dune Buggies – one red and one sand colored. They are about 3 inches long. They have been made to stand up to the rigors of slot car racing and reviewers of Carrera Go sets do remark on how they stand up to the rough treatment handed out to them.

Pros: You get 18 feet of track and two cool looking Dune Buggies. It is well made and at an affordable price, so makes an ideal starter set. There is the ability to build out the set with additional track. And if you do get bored with cars you can pick up other cars from the Carrera Go range. The uncontrolled junction and squeeze track add to the excitement of slot car racing. The sand colored track is also a nice touch.
The 1:43 scale size track means you can fit the 18 feet of track in only 7.12 by 3.9 feet of area. The scale also makes the cars a good size for children to handle and place on the track as required.

Cons: This is a slot car set. One of the areas where most people comment negatively is the cars not staying on the track when going round the corners. This is to be expected with slot car racing. It can be a frustrating experience when you are getting started, but most people are able to master this skill and get many hours of enjoyment after this initial frustration.
It is a starter set, which is great for getting started, but if you want to get more serious with hobby you will need to move on to different slot car scales especially if you want to join a club and race against other enthusiasts.
