30138 Carrera Digital 132 Racing Thunder set has everything you need to get started racing right away in your home. The cars 1:32 scale and the track is 1:24 scale giving your more room to slide and race round the turns. The track is over 22 feet when fully assembled and needs an area of 9.92 by 5.54 ft to accommodate it. The track is made of a synthetic material that allows for a smoother ride. The steel slots and unique bolt system mean the track is securely together and has a constant power supply to the cars.
The two cars – the blue Chevrolet® Chevelle™ SS™454 ’70 and the red Pontiac Firebird Trans Am ’77 are highly detailed and look great because of the state of the art of tampo-printed paint job.  The cars are made to take the bumps and crashes of slot car racing.  The cars also have realistic acceleration and braking action and working lights.
The digital 132 system from Carrera enables you to change lanes at full speed to overtake and block your opponent. No longer are you stuck to one lane.  With this system it is possible to race up to 6 different cars at one time on just two slots (This set includes only 2 cars, additional cars are available). You can race against ghost cars and a pace car can be operated. Slot car racing is now more like the real thing.
