The AFX Super Coupes Racing set is an introductory set into to the hobby of slot car racing. With a track length of 12.8 feet in a modified figure 8 track providing a fly-over and underpass. It only occupies 5 by 3 feet when built.

The two cars included in the AFX Super Coupes Racing raced in the sport changing Le Mans race of 1966 where America broke the dominance of the European cars. The two famous cars included in this set are Ford’s GT40 (the winner) and Jim Hall’s Chaparral 2C. The cars look great with the Mega G chassis and have won a number of awards as HO Slot Car of the year. The cars have great detail and finishing and clear windows to see the detailed interior. The cars include magnets to help keep the cars on the track during racing, although the cars do need to be slowed down to successfully negotiate the curves.

The track can be put together in about 10 minutes and from my research most people find it durable and easy to assemble. The set includes clear layout guides to help with the initial assembly. The power pack included allows you to change the direction of the racing around the track with the flick of a switch.
