The AFX Long Beach Grand Prix Slot Car Set lives up to its name. The track is long with more than 50 feet of track and the course layout is like the famous Long Beach Grand Prix. The Super G+ slot cars that come with this set are modelled on the cars of two of the best known drivers from the Champ Car series #1 Sebastien Bourdais and #3 Paul Tracy to race round this long track.

The cars are HO scale – this is 1:64 scale or about 2.5 inches long. And they are quick. The cars are made to take the rigors of slot car racing. They come with ground hugging magnets for better grip for the cornering which means you can keep the speed up as you go round them without flying off. However, like the real thing you do need to slow the cars down to get round successfully by easing off on the hand controller.

To keep you cars in top racing condition a tune-up kit is included.

The Long beach set up needs 16 feet by 9 feet to accommodate but with other layout designs it can be reduced to needing only 9 X 6 feet. From reviews people have no trouble putting the track together and get started racing.
